Take A55 westbound (Chester to Conwy direction) exit at junction 20 (Rhos-on-Sea exit). Then Right at lights at end of slip road. Right again next lights then keep in left lane to mini roudabout. Left at the mini roundabout to Mochdre and straight for about 3 miles, then at end of all the shops (two rows) turn Right into Station road. At first T junction Turn right. See note below for a description of the row of shops.
Continue past the pretty St Cystennin's Church and continue for about 2 miles.
At the next Y junction, turn left up hill for one mile, just before you get to the top of the hill, make a note of the small Nature reserve on your right for later in your stay. Just after the Nature Reserve, Ignore the sign on the left for Tan-y-Bryn Caravan Park which is for Static Caravans only, ignore this turn and continue straight on. Tan-y-Bryn Farm is about 1,000 metres further on.
After you go past the Red Post Box on the left, you will soon see a change in Speed Limit sign down to 30mph. Tan-y-Bryn Farm is on the right 10 metres after this 30mph speed sign.
If you wish to, activate the Sat Nav ONLY once you get to Mochdre village, it might assist you, but primarily use the directions above.
SHOPS : Note that the shops in Mochdre, as you approach them from the A55, are Magnet Joinery, Car Parts/Spares, Peugeot Garage, Road, Butchers, Cafe, One Stop Grocery Store (biggish shop with Cashpoint and Post Office), Fish/Chips/Kebabs, A 'Junk' shop, Chinese takeaway then an Office on the end of the row before the turn down for Station Road. These are the nearest shops to the Campsite if you need any provisions, hence the full list.
A Lidl can be found back at the A55 junction 20 where you turned off for Mochdre, a Petrol Station at J21 and Tescos at J22 (follow signs for Conwy).
Also at J22 at the end of the Slip road on the left can be found RSPB, Conwy. At the Tescos roundabout in Conwy/Llandudno Junction, is also a CineWorld complex with the usual supporting food outlets : Macdonalds, Pizza Hut, KFC
The RSPB, Conwy is famous for huge gatherings Murmuration of Starlings at dusk swooping through the sky like a giant, floating monster just prior to settling down for the night in the Conwy marsh reeds on the protected RSPB site. Incredible to watch from the entrance road to the RSPB car park late Feb/early March at around 17:30 is good time to be there.
